Born and raised in Kansas City, I first became interested in the arts when I turned my bedroom walls into a drawing board at five years old. My parents were not amused.
Years later, I picked up my first skateboard and my first camera shortly after. Both of them blended together perfectly. Skateboarding shaped me as a man and as a photographer. During my college years at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I spent most of my time photographing skateboarding. After graduating, I moved to Los Angeles with my wife, Lwany.
Once in LA, I became a staff photographer for Skateboarder Magazine. I traveled the world photographing skateboarders I grew up watching as a kid. It was a dream job until it came to an end with the magazine going out of business.
From there, I took my photographic style and applied it to other areas I was interested in, like lifestyle, fashion, and advertising. With my stylist wife's help, I was able to build enough work to get noticed by my now rep Laura Elizabeth Andonian at The JUDE Group.
With my wife moving away from styling, we still wanted to collaborate, and both became passionate about directing motion projects together. Although I still direct on my own, it's been really fun working with her as well. You can see our first project here.
When I'm not walking my dog, skateboarding, cycling, or collaborating with my wife, I have been fortunate to shoot photos for companies like Nike, Peloton, Apple, Uber, and many more.
You can learn a whole lot more about me in this podcast interview or this one.
