As you may have read on here before, I love doing test shoots. Recently, I had the opportunity to collaborate with a creative director on one for the first time. The project reunited me with Diana Albrecht, a dear friend I met years ago while working on a Target campaign where she served as the creative lead.
I pitched her a simple concept: capturing runners amid everyday life scenes, as if you've just glanced over and noticed someone jogging by. With this minimal brief, Diana crafted an impressive 40-page creative deck, detailing the desired look, feel, shot ideas, and wardrobe inspiration.
We approached this test shoot like a full commercial production. This included casting models, scouting locations, and bringing on a producer, Kristen Brancaccio, to manage the day-of logistics.
Working with Diana was an absolute pleasure. Test shoots can be challenging when you're juggling multiple roles, but this collaboration allowed me to focus primarily on photography. Diana oversaw the big picture, ensuring our shots aligned with our vision, while our fantastic producer, Kristen, kept everything on track.
Now, if only Diana lived in California, we would be doing this all the time! Fly back out here girl and let’s do this again!
